Our Senior Only programs are for students in their senior year of high school, who have completed most of their curriculum requirements for graduation, and have time in their schedule to pursue an industry-recognized credential, making them more marketable upon high school graduation.

NEW FOR 2021: This unique program, partnered with the Mentor Fire Department, combines classroom and laboratory activities to provide a foundation of practical knowledge needed for this challenging field and will prepare students to perform entry-level emergency medical care as an EMT. This program is designed for students who may be interested in pursuing careers in the medical field or public safety. Program time is 11:30-2:00pm and will be located at the new Mentor Regional Response Facility opening in the fall 2021.

In partnership with Cuyahoga Community College, students will learn the basic health care skills necessary for an entry-level position in the medical field and have the opportunity to earn their State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) License. Students will learn to assist patients with daily living and fundamental tasks, perform accurate vital signs, assist in a variety of medical treatments. Students will receive at least 75 hours of state approved STNA Curriculum through classroom instruction and clinicals. Program time is 11:30-2:30.
Advanced Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship

New for 2021: Our Advanced Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship program, located at Lakeland Community College, is a great way to get started early in your career and earn while you learn! Over this one year program, students will have the opportunity to earn their Ohio Apprenticeship Council recognized Pre-Apprenticeship certificate, which can be applied for up to one year of credit towards the AWT Apprenticeship program, Students also have an opportunity to obtain a second semester internship with one of our many local partners and complete their internship during the school day! Program times are to be determined.

This unique program, located on the campus of Lake Erie College, combines classroom and laboratory activities to provide a foundation of practical knowledge needed to prepare students for entry level careers in the HVAC-R trade with a residential or commercial company. Students will learn fundamentals of furnaces, air conditioning units, heat pumps, refrigeration systems, and welding fundamentals. Students will have the opportunity to earn their EPA 608 certification Refrigerant Recovery Core + Level 1 to handle refrigerants and also various Lincoln Electric Welding Certifications.
